Monique Small was born from a love of food, family, and flavor. Chef Monique — known to many as Chef Mo — grew up learning to cook beside her grandmother, who taught her that every meal should be made with your heart and soul.
Her Granny — a proud Barbadian homemaker, Head Cook in her prime in Public Schools , and the heartbeat of the family.Granny not only nurtured her, but also passed down the traditions of cooking with love, patience, and island flavor. Every recipe, every spice, and every dish is a reflection of those lessons. When you taste Chef Mo’s meals,
you taste the legacy Hilda C Small a woman who poured her heart into her kitchen and her granddaughter’s life.

Chef Mo's blends her Caribbean and BKLYN roots into every recipe — from her signature Drunken Wicked Wings to her Drunken Flying Salmon . Each meal is slow-cooked with bold spices, fresh produce, and just the right splash of flavor (sometimes even a little liquor 😉).
In 2025, Chef Mo was recognized nationally as one of the Favorite Chef Competition Finalists, honored for her creativity, authenticity, and impact in the culinary world. Being part of the Favorite Chef 2025 Hall of Fame represents more than an award — it’s a celebration of how far she’s come, and how much love and culture she pours into every plate.
Today, Chef Mo continues her grandmother’s legacy through Chef Mo On The Go Meals, delivering fresh, homemade, chef-quality dishes to families, professionals, and food lovers everywhere.
